Tororo
Give Tororo 4–6 h: climb Tororo Rock, walk the market, then take the USh 4,000 bus to Mbale (1 h) or push on to Jinja.
Tororo is a small industrial and trading town in eastern Uganda, 10 km from the Kenyan border and 230 km from Kampala. Tororo Rock rises over the centre, and the compact town is walkable, so a half-day covers the main sights. Most travellers use it as a transport stop between Kampala, Mbale and the border.
