Torbay
Skip Torbay as a base unless you have a car and want a quiet North Shore beach stay: 1 night, or a half-day stop on the Coastal Walk.
Torbay is a seaside suburb on Auckland's North Shore, about 30 km north of the CBD. It has little of its own beyond Waiake Beach and Winstones Cove, but sits between the better-known beaches of Browns Bay and Long Bay. Most travellers pass through on the North Shore Coastal Walk or stay one night with a car.
