How days are scored
Rain makes trails slippery, wind is worst on open ridges, and long climbs in heat or near freezing are harder than they look.

A day takes its worst factor. These are our own planning rules of thumb, not official safety limits; the wind bands follow the Beaufort scale. Forecasts drift, so days further out are less reliable. For boats, dives and mountain trails, the operator's or the local rescue service's call on the day comes first. Rain chance is the chance that some rain falls, not how much.
