Plan for another night

After midnight counts as the night before: Saturday 01:30 is still Friday night's service.

Typical last trains from central stations; the ends of a line stop earlier, and holidays use their own timetable. Check the operator's app on the night.

Step-free accesscheck

Metro stations have lifts; suburban stations mostly do not, and boarding a local is a scramble.

Etiquette and rulescheck

  • Ladies' compartments on every local (marked on the platform) and women-reserved areas on the metro.
  • Avoid locals 08:00–10:30 and 17:30–21:00 with luggage.
  • Never ride on the footboard; step on and off only when the train stops.

After the last traincheck

  • Uber, Ola, black-and-yellow taxis; autos only north of Bandra/Sion.
  • BEST buses run a few overnight routes (check).
