E-visa accepted here
Yes

Visa on arrival (pay the posted US dollar fee, refuse extras) or the Cambodia e-visa, which is accepted only at listed land posts. Fill the e-Arrival card online before you go. (check)

Visa answers are for most Western passports and change often. Check yours on entry check and the official e-visa site; for e-visas, the post must be on the country's list of accepted ports.

Getting across

  • Direct international bus Bangkok (Mo Chit) → Siem Reap, one ticket, 8–10 h.
  • Train Bangkok → Aranyaprathet (about 6 h, check the current timetable), then tuk-tuk to the post.
  • On the Cambodian side: the free shuttle to the bus terminal, then bus or shared taxi to Siem Reap (about 2.5 h).

Scams and traps

  • Fake 'Cambodian consulate' offices before the real border selling visas at double the price.
  • Touts in official-looking uniforms steering you to a 'visa service'.
  • Taxi cartel on the Cambodian side with fixed high fares; the public bus terminal shuttle avoids it.
  • Exchange stalls pushing riel at bad rates: dollars work everywhere in Siem Reap.

Tips

  • Hold the Cambodia e-visa and skip the visa hall.
  • Ignore anyone who stops the tuk-tuk before the market: the real post is at the end of the road.
