Thirubuvanai is a small village on the outskirts of Pondicherry, home to two Chola-era temples. The main attraction is the 11th-century Sri Vedapureeswarar Temple, a granite structure with a carved Nandi and a small tank. The village itself has no other sights, no restaurants and limited accommodation. Most travellers visit as a 30-minute stop on the way to or from Pondicherry.
