Temiskaming Shores
Come for 1–2 nights if you have a car and want lake views and quiet; without a car the bus links Haileybury and New Liskeard, but sights outside town are hard to reach.
Temiskaming Shores is the biggest community in this part of Northeastern Ontario, formed from Haileybury, New Liskeard and Dymond. It is a lake-and-highway stop, not a sightseeing city: the draws are Devil's Rock, the waterfronts and the Cobalt silver-rush history nearby. One to two nights covers it; a car is best for the sights outside town, though Temiskaming Transit links the two main towns.
