Taveuni is Fiji's garden island: a 42 km volcanic ridge ringed by the Somosomo Strait and Rainbow Reef. It is a diving and rainforest destination, not a beach-resort hub. Rain is frequent year-round, so plan wet-weather alternatives. Three to four nights covers the Bouma waterfalls, Lavena coast, and two dive days; fewer nights does not justify the transfer.

Taveuni is a wet island: rain can cancel a dive or hike without notice. Build in a spare day if diving is the priority.
Diving the Somosomo Strait and Rainbow Reef involves strong currents; this is not a beginner destination.
The island has one ATM (Naqara) and few card options outside resorts.
Ferry schedules from Suva and Savusavu run only 1–2 times a week; a missed sailing can cost days.
