Takestan is a small agricultural city in Qazvin province, known for its vineyards and two 11th-century Seljuk mausolea (the Kharraqan Towers). Most travellers pass through on the Tehran–Tabriz rail line. The city itself has limited services for tourists; the main draw is the Kharraqan Towers, 10 km outside town. A half-day from Qazvin covers the towers and the Pir-i Takestan Mausoleum.
