Sweet Home
Skip Sweet Home unless you need a quiet base for Cascadia State Park or the Santiam River: half a day covers the town, one night if you hike.
Sweet Home is a small timber town on Highway 20 in the Willamette Valley, 40 min east of Albany. It has a handful of parks, a few bars and churches, and a diner with a river view. Most travellers pass through on the way to the Cascades or Bend. Use it as a stop for a picnic and a short walk, not a destination.
