Swansboro is a small waterfront town of about 3,700 people on the White Oak River, at the western edge of the Crystal Coast. Get around
You need a car. NC-24 is the spine: Jacksonville is about 30 min west, Cape Carteret and Emerald Isle 10–25 min east, Morehead City about 30 min. Downtown parking is free and Front Street is walkable in 10 minutes end to end; bikes work well on the flat lanes and the 25-mile Bicentennial Bicycle Trail loops through town into the Croatan National Forest. No useful local bus service.
