Stop for one night on an I-90 run between Missoula and Coeur d'Alene, or skip it: the town is a few blocks and the real draw is the Clark Fork valley around it.
Superior sits in the narrow Clark Fork River valley between high Rocky Mountain walls, about 1 h 15 min west of Missoula on I-90. Get around
A car is the default: I-90 runs through town and everything else is a short drive. The main grid is only a few hundred yards across, so once parked you can walk the centre in minutes, including the footways on the bridge to the north bank.
