Studio City is a residential Valley neighbourhood built around film and TV work, 12 miles northwest of Downtown LA and directly west of Universal City. There is no single sight that justifies a trip on its own: the draw is a walkable strip of Ventura Boulevard restaurants, a sushi cluster near the Universal City border, and quick access to Universal Studios and the Metro B Line. Treat it as a place to sleep and eat next to Universal, not a destination in itself.

Get around
Ventura Boulevard is the spine and the only genuinely walkable stretch, roughly Laurel Canyon Boulevard to Whitsett Avenue. The Metro B Line stops at Studio City/Universal City station, linking to Universal City, Hollywood and Downtown LA; local buses run along Ventura. A car helps for the hills, Fryman Canyon and anything beyond the Valley, and parking on Ventura is tight at dinner.
