One night, and only if you are already driving the Trans-Canada between Port aux Basques and Corner Brook. No scheduled flights, no town buses.
Stephenville is a former US Air Force town on Bay St. George, 2 h north of the Port aux Basques ferry and about 1 h 30 min south of Corner Brook. The base closed in 1966 and its grid of state-named streets is still the town's shape. There is no scheduled air service and no public transit, so a car decides everything: with one you get the Port-au-Port peninsula and the beach; without one you are stuck on Main Street.
