Stemnitsa
Half a day to one night: see the cliff monastery, walk the Lousios Gorge and eat in a stone village. Not a base — pair with Dimitsana or Karytaina.
Stemnitsa is a stone-built mountain village on the slopes of Mount Mainalo, above the Lousios Gorge. It is known for its preserved architecture, silversmithing tradition and access to the Monastery of Saint John the Baptist, built into the cliff face. Most travellers stop for a few hours or one night as part of a Peloponnese road trip.
