Get around
Downtown is walkable; Metro-North's New Haven Line links Stamford with New York and New Haven, and the New Canaan branch serves Glenbrook and Springdale. CTtransit buses run the main roads and to White Plains and Port Chester, NY. A car helps for the north side, the beaches and the Merritt Parkway corridor; I-95 cuts through downtown and is slow at rush hour.
