St Vincent is the largest island in the country and the only one with the international airport. Kingstown is the capital and the port for the ferries to Bequia and the southern Grenadines. Plans go wrong on the last ferry, on hurricane-season weather and on volcano-area access, so keep a flexible day before any onward boat and check the current status of La Soufrière with local sources.
