St. Pete Beach
Go for 2–3 nights if you want a beach base with no car: stay on Gulf Blvd, ride the trolley, walk to dinner. Skip if you want city sights.
St. Pete Beach is a barrier-island strip on the Gulf: a long white-sand beach, a walkable core around Corey Ave, and the older Pass-A-Grille village at the south end. It is a base for beach days, sunsets and boat trips, not for museums or nightlife. Two or three nights covers it; a car is optional if you stay on the trolley line. Peak season is winter and spring, when rates roughly double.

Scams and watch-outs

- Parking near the beach fills early; many lots are paid and enforced.
- Red tide and rip currents appear some weeks: check beach flags and local advisories.
