Skip unless you want a quiet, all-inclusive beach day within sight of Belize City. One night is enough; two if you fish or dive.

St. George's Caye is a 20-person island 10 miles off Belize City, known for the 1798 Battle of St. George's Caye (celebrated 10 September). It has no airstrip, no shops, no nightlife — just two resorts, a beach, hammocks, snorkelling and kayaks. Most travellers prefer Caye Caulker or Ambergris Caye for more to do.
