South West Nigeria is the Yoruba-speaking block around Lagos: one huge coastal city, one old university city 2 hours inland by train, and a ring of state capitals — Abeokuta, Osogbo, Akure, Ado-Ekiti — that are day-trip or one-night stops, not a road-trip circuit. Lagos has the airport, the beds and the food; the railway to Ibadan is the one intercity leg that beats the road. Pick two bases, not six.
