South Kingstown is a South County town of villages — Kingston with the University of Rhode Island, Peace Dale and Wakefield with the shops and the rail trail, and Matunuck on the coast. There is no single downtown and no big-ticket sight: you come for beaches within 20 minutes, the 5.6-mile William C. O'Neill Bike Path, and the Matunuck oyster beds. Two nights is enough; three if you add Block Island or Newport.
