Sousa
Half a day: arrive in the morning, see the dinosaur footprints at Vale dos Dinossauros, and leave by afternoon. Not a base.
Sousa is a small town in western Paraíba, known almost exclusively for the nearby Vale dos Dinossauros, a fossil site with dinosaur footprints. The town itself has little to offer beyond a surreal collapsed church wall. Most travellers arrive from Campina Grande or Juazeiro do Norte, visit the valley, and continue the same day.
