Sooke is a small town at the south end of Vancouver Island, about an hour west of Victoria by car or bus. The draw is coastal: East Sooke Regional Park, the Sooke Potholes, Whiffin Spit and the road west toward Port Renfrew. The town centre is four blocks and walkable; everything else needs a car.

Get around
Walk the four-block centre. For the parks and the coast road you need a car: BC Transit route 61 links Sooke with Langford and, at rush hours on weekdays, with downtown Victoria; outside those hours change to route 95 in Langford. The direct Victoria–Sooke trip runs about 1 h 15 min. The Galloping Goose Regional Trail reaches Sooke on foot or by bike, with parking at Ludlow Road and Sooke River Road.
