Skip Songyuan unless you have a specific reason (oil business, visiting friends). One night is enough to see the river confluence and a museum; otherwise use it as a transit stop.
Songyuan is a mid-sized industrial city in Jilin, built around oil and the confluence of the Songhua and Nen rivers. It has a long history but few tourist sights. Most travellers use it as a rail stop between Harbin and Changchun, or skip it entirely.
