Sobral
Sobral works as a 1-night stopover between Fortaleza and Jericoacoara, or a half-day detour for colonial churches and riverfront strolls. Skip it if you're short on time.
Sobral is Ceará's second-largest city and a quiet alternative to the coast. Its colonial churches, riverfront walk and low-key bars offer a genuine slice of interior Brazil. Most travellers use it as a break on the bus route to Jericoacoara or a day trip from Fortaleza.
