Skagen is Denmark's northernmost town, where the Skagerrak and Kattegat meet at Grenen. It is a working fishing port first and a summer resort second: the permanent population is about 7,500, but the season swells it to roughly 60,000. Two nights covers Grenen, the Skagen Painters museums, Råbjerg Mile and the buried church without rushing. A car or a rented bike matters more here than in any other Danish town, because the sights sit 3–8 km apart along flat coastal roads.
