Changi is the arrival point for essentially every visitor. It sits at the eastern end of the island, so the run into town is short by big-city standards. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are linked airside and landside by the free Skytrain. Terminal 4 connects by shuttle bus instead — allow an extra 10–15 minutes if you are transferring there. Jewel, the mall and garden complex, sits between T1 and T2 and is open to anyone, including people not flying.
Seletar Airport (XSP) in the north-east takes private jets, charter and flight-training traffic, plus some turboprop regional services. If your booking says Seletar, treat it as a separate airport: it is smaller, has fewer transport options and is further from the centre by road than Changi. Check your arrival airport before you book a transfer.
On arrival, clear immigration before collecting bags at most terminals, then follow signs for Taxi, MRT or Bus. The MRT station is between T2 and T3; from T1 or T4 you walk or ride the Skytrain first. Trains run roughly 05:30 to midnight, so a very late landing means taxi, Grab or an airport bus.
For departures, most airlines allow online check-in and bag drop from about three hours before a long-haul flight. Security is at the gate for many flights, so keep liquids and laptops accessible until you reach it.

Tips
Use the official taxi queue outside the arrival hall. Drivers who approach you inside the terminal are not licensed and will quote a flat, inflated fare.
Pay for the MRT and buses with a contactless bank card or phone — foreign cards work on the gates. Tap in and tap out on buses; no change is given if you pay cash.
Singapore's rules are strict and enforced: vaping, chewing gum imports, littering and drug offences carry fines or worse. Declare anything you are unsure about on the customs form.
Changi has free water coolers, left-luggage and a 24-hour food court. A long layover is comfortable here without leaving the airport.
If you land after midnight, book a hotel near the airport or take a taxi; the MRT will not be running.
