Give Silay one full day for the heritage houses, then sleep in Bacolod: Silay's own beds are few and the museum streets shut by late afternoon.
Silay is the old sugar town next to Bacolod, about 30–45 minutes by bus, and holds 29 declared ancestral houses plus the San Diego Pro-Cathedral. The heritage core is walkable in half a day. Most travellers come as a day trip from Bacolod, or land here at Bacolod-Silay Airport (BCD) and move on. Stay only if you want a quiet night near the airport.

Tricycles are the cheapest way around the city proper (short hops from about ₱8–20; fares change without notice). Jeepneys run fixed routes and to Bacolod (about ₱15–18). Taxis use a meter with a flag-down of about ₱40; if a driver quotes a flat fare, agree the price first or take another cab. Ceres buses link Silay with Bacolod, Talisay, Victorias, Kabankalan and Sipalay.
