시흥
Skip Siheung as a base: it is a Seoul satellite with no old town. Go only for Oido's mudflats and sunset, as a half-day from Incheon or Ansan.
Siheung is a southwestern Gyeonggi satellite of about 425,000 people, grown from 100,000 in the 1990s around the Sihwa industrial complex. Its draw is coastal: the Oido shell-mound site, the red lighthouse and the West Sea sunset, plus the Siheung Gaetgol Ecology Park. Sights are spread over roughly 140 km², so a car or a taxi hop matters more than a metro pass. Most travellers see it as a half-day add-on to Incheon or Ansan, not a place to sleep.

Get around
The Seohae Line (Sosa–Wonsi) is the backbone, with Siheung City Hall, Siheung Neunggok, Wolgot, Oido and Jeongwang stations; Line 4 and the Suin–Bundang Line touch the edges and need a transfer. City buses (510, 23, 88) link the districts and the coast; wide-area 3400 and 3200 run to Gangnam and Yeouido. Bikes are easy to rent near Wolgot and Jeongwang stations. Taxis start at about ₩4,800.
