Sidney is a small waterfront town on the Saanich Peninsula, 27 km north of Victoria and 4.5 km from Victoria International Airport (YYJ). It works as a bed before an early Swartz Bay sailing or a flight, and as a slow half-day of bookshops, a marine centre and a seawall. There is no nightlife scene and most visitors pass through.
