Shushtar
One day is enough: see the UNESCO hydraulic system, the Roman bridge and the castle ruins, then move on to Ahvaz or Shush.
Shushtar is an ancient city in Khuzestan, southwestern Iran, best known for its Historical Hydraulic System, a UNESCO World Heritage site dating from the 5th century BC. The main sights—the hydraulic works, Band-e Kaisar (Roman bridge), and Salasel Castle—can be covered in a day. Most travellers combine it with Shush and Chogha Zanbil as a day trip from Ahvaz.
