Shishi
石狮
Skip Shishi unless you have business in the garment or stone trade: the city is a factory hub with few sights, best seen as a half-day pass-through from Xiamen or Quanzhou.
Shishi sits between Xiamen and Quanzhou, known for its casual-wear factories and stone quarries. The downtown is a working industrial grid with a few old temples and markets. Most travellers use it as a transit point or skip it entirely. The coastline has a quieter beach and a Song-dynasty pagoda, but nothing that justifies a dedicated trip.

Shishi is generally safe, but traffic is chaotic and motorcycle drivers may overcharge. Watch for pickpockets in crowded markets.
