Shima
志摩市
Spend one night in Shima for pearl farms, a Spanish theme park and coastal walks; it's a half-day add-on from Ise, not a base.
Shima is a coastal city on the Shima Peninsula in Mie Prefecture, known for pearl cultivation and watersports. Most visitors come for a day trip from Ise or a single night to visit Parque Espana, swim at Goza Shirahama, or tour the Ago Bay pearl rafts. The city is compact but spread out: you need a bus or car to connect the sights.
