Shawan
沙湾
Skip Shawan unless you are a Guo Moruo scholar or passing through on the Leshan–Chengdu bus route: the stone forest is small and the town has no other draw. Half a day is enough.
Shawan is a small city in East Sichuan, best known as the birthplace of writer and historian Guo Moruo. Its main sight is the Meinufeng Stone Forest, a modest rock formation. Most travellers pass through on the bus between Leshan and Chengdu without stopping. One morning or afternoon covers the town.
