Shamali Plain
دشت شاملی
A half-day drive north of Kabul for farmland views and local fruit; not a destination on its own. Use it as a transit corridor to the Panjshir Valley or Bamiyan.
The Shamali Plain is the green agricultural belt north of Kabul, known for grapes and orchards. It was a front line in past wars and still carries mine risks. Most travellers cross it on the way to the Panjshir Valley or Bamiyan, stopping briefly for a meal or a viewpoint.
