Shama is a quiet coastal town on the Ghanaian Coastal Plain, about 25 km east of Sekondi-Takoradi. Its main draw is Fort St. Sebastian, a UNESCO-listed Portuguese fort, and the uncrowded beach. Most travellers visit as a short stop between Cape Coast and Takoradi or as a half-day trip from Sekondi-Takoradi.
