Shahkooh is a high-altitude village in Golestan Province, 45 min from Gorgan and an hour from Shahroud. Its main draw is the scenic Gorgan-Shahkooh road, fresh mountain air and local food. Most visitors stop for a few hours on a road trip between the Caspian coast and the desert.
