Sayabouly
ໄຊຍະບູລີ
Spend a half‑day (4–6 h) to see the town monument and Elephant Conservation Center; stay overnight only if you need a base for nearby bus routes.
Sayabouly is a small town on Highway 4 in northern Laos. The roundabout marks the centre, with a monument to the west, guesthouses and an ATM to the east, and two bus stations a few kilometres north and south. Most visitors stop for a few hours to stretch a long bus ride, visit the elephant centre, and maybe sleep in a budget guesthouse before continuing north to Luang Prabang or south toward the Thai border.
