Get around
The downtown, River Landing, Broadway and the university are walkable and linked by the Meewasin Trail. Saskatoon Transit covers the rest of the city; a single adult fare is about $3, or a 10-ride GoCard package for about $25 (check). Taxis and ride-hailing (Uber, Riide) are easy to find; a 10-minute taxi ride runs about $10–15. A car helps for outlying sights and day trips.

Scams and watch-outs
- Winters are severe: −20 °C and below is normal Dec–Feb, with snow from Oct. Pack for the season you actually get.
- The alphabet-avenue area west of Idylwyld Drive has more crime than other districts; there is little reason for visitors to be there.
- Saskatchewan does not observe daylight saving: summer daylight runs roughly 4:45am–9pm, winter about 9:15am–5pm.
- Distances between Prairie towns are long; fill the tank before leaving the city.
Saskatoon is generally safe for visitors in the downtown, Broadway and university areas. The main risks are winter cold and ice, and the alphabet-avenue district west of Idylwyld Drive, which has more crime than the rest of the city.
