Sargans
Stop in Sargans for a few hours to see the castle and fort, or spend a full day if you want a mine tour or alpine hike.
Sargans is a small rail hub in eastern Switzerland with a medieval castle, a WWII artillery fort and the historic Gonzen iron‑ore mine. The sights are clustered near the station, so a half‑day covers the castle and fort; a full day adds a guided mine tour or a hike to Sichelchamm. It works well as a brief stop on a Zurich‑Chur itinerary.
