São Bernardo do Campo is an industrial city of Greater São Paulo, 20 km southeast of the capital, and the birthplace of Brazil's modern labour movement. Almost nothing here is aimed at visitors except the Riacho Grande district, where the Billings reservoir, Atlantic rainforest and the Caminhos do Mar trail sit beside the Anchieta motorway. It is also the closest big municipality in the metro area to the coast. Come for one day of green and water, not for a city break.
