Sanyo-Onoda
山陽小野田市
Half a day is enough: see the Akasaki Shrine, walk the coast, then move on. Not a base.
Sanyo-Onoda is a small coastal city in Yamaguchi Prefecture, midway between Shimonoseki and Ube. Its main draw is the Akasaki Shrine, a quiet Shinto site on the water. Most travellers pass through on the Sanyo Shinkansen or expressway; one morning or afternoon covers the town.
