Santipur
শান্তিপুর
Half a day is enough for Santipur: see the Shyamchand Temple, walk the old weaving lanes and leave. Add a night only for the Dol or Ras Utsav festival.
Santipur is a weaving town on the Ganges floodplain in Nadia district, 90 km north of Kolkata. Its main draw is the Shyamchand Temple and the annual Dol Utsav (Holi) and Ras Utsav festivals. Most travellers combine it with a visit to nearby Nabadwip or Mayapur in a single day trip from Kolkata or Krishnanagar.
