Sant Pere Pescador
Come for 2–3 nights if you want a 6-km beach and wind for kitesurfing; skip it as a sightseeing base — the old town is 30 minutes on foot.
Sant Pere Pescador is a small beach-and-camping town on the Bay of Roses, at the mouth of the Fluvià river and the southern edge of the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà wetlands. There is no train station and no old-town hotel cluster: most visitors sleep in one of the big campgrounds behind the dunes, or in a handful of small hotels. Two or three nights covers the beach, the river mouth and the bird reserve; add nights only if you are windsurfing or kitesurfing, because the bay is one of the windiest stretches of the Costa Brava.
