Salleri
Salleri is a 20-minute walk from Phaplu airstrip and a practical overnight stop before or after a flight from Kathmandu, not a destination itself: one night is enough.
Salleri is the district headquarters of Solu Khumbu and the gateway for treks into the Everest region when you fly to Phaplu. The town itself has a few sights within a 3-hour walk, but most travellers use it as a transit point: fly in from Kathmandu, sleep one night, then head north toward Namche Bazaar or east toward Pike Hill.
