Saint-Justin
Skip as a base: a small Maskinongé parish village with no hotel. Go only as a sugar-shack or harvest-festival stop, 1.5 h from Montréal by car.
Saint-Justin is a farming and forestry parish in the Maskinongé Region, about 104 km northeast of Montréal. There is no lodging in the village, so it works as a half-day detour for maple shacks, the autumn harvest festival and quiet country roads, with Louiseville or Maskinongé as your bed. VIA Rail stops 5 km north, but only one day a week per route, so treat the train as a bonus, not a plan.
