Rust
Half a day: walk the stork-nesting old town, see the Fischerkirche and the lake, then move on. One night only if you want a slow dinner at a winery.
Rust is a small, preserved town on the western shore of Lake Neusiedl, known for its storks, a UNESCO-listed historic centre and a handful of sights. The old town takes about two hours on foot. Most travellers combine it with Eisenstadt or Neusiedl am See in a single day from Vienna.
