Roseville is a Sacramento suburb on Interstate 80 in Placer County, about 10 mi (16 km) northeast of the state capital and roughly 20 minutes by car without traffic. It has no landmark sights of its own: the draw is a large shopping mall, a regional park, a waterpark and a rail station on the Amtrak California Zephyr and Capitol Corridor lines. Travellers use it as a cheaper, quieter bed for Sacramento, Auburn and the Gold Country, or as a stop on the Zephyr.
