Rosetown
Give Rosetown one night as a Highway 7 break between Saskatoon and Calgary, or a half-day stop for the museum and tourist centre.
Rosetown is a town of about 2,500 at the junction of Highways 4 and 7, roughly 115 km west of Saskatoon and 610 km east of Calgary. There is no bus or train, so you arrive by car. Its draws are small and seasonal: a district museum with a restored 1923 catalogue house, a 9-hole golf course, and the Ancient Echoes centre 30 km northwest at Herschel. Most travellers use it as a fuel-and-sleep stop on the drive across the Prairies, not as a destination in itself.

Get around
A car is effectively required: sights are spread along Highway 7 and out to Herschel, and there is no bus or train. The town core is small enough to walk between the motels, the Co-op supermarket and the tourist centre. Fuel up on Main Street or Highway 7 before the long empty stretches in either direction.
