The Rockies are a 3,000 mi (4,800 km) chain, not a place. Fly into Denver or Salt Lake City, rent a car, and give each cluster 3–4 nights. Denver is the only big city and the only easy car-free base; everything else is a drive, and in winter a pass can close and cancel the plan.
